Rekindling A Flame!

If you’re someone who used to go to the gym religiously and suddenly had to stop for whatever reason, you know it can be tough to stay consistent when getting back into that routine you once easily followed.

The secret though; STAY CONSISTENT. It’s going to take you about a month of consistency, maybe shorter, maybe longer to get yourself to follow that routine without thinking twice about it. There’s nothing wrong with that. As long as you have that in mind, it’s simple to deal with and push through. There are going to be little obstacles that get in the way when you’re starting out again.

Has soreness ever stopped you? We all know that when you haven’t worked out in a while, your muscles are going to be sore from that first workout. There’s almost no way around it. No amount of water, no amount of stretching and warming up, no amount of potassium can prevent that from happening. Again, reassure yourself that it’s all part of the process. This “game” that you’re going to play in the beginning is mostly mental. It’s not going to be about whether or not your body can stand it. It’s 100% going to be based on whether or not your mentality is right.

Give yourself some daily motivation. It may sound cliche, but those motivating quotes or memes certainly help some people out there. You could also recap on old pictures or take a look at some old workout videos that you’ve archived. If there’s someone you want to look or be like, take a look at what they’re doing to conquer their goals on a daily basis. Keep your resources at your fingertips. Most of all, don’t give up on yourself.
